Make sure you have excellent cooling.

Boot times are faster, nothing critical. Definitely worth half its price. My asus tuf z590 has no problem with it, I had to fiddle with a few settings to get mobo to read it as a bootable disk. It heats up, my case has amazing airflow and doesn't affect my GPU temperatures. The rbg looks cool, like a decent corsair ram rgb. Would I buy again? NO. The Samsung 970 evo plus is just as good. If it was cheaper, like $300, then yes, do it.

VERY fast under load

This drive meets its performance specifications and is very fast under heavy loads and/or when transferring large files. For simple things like downloads and single-threaded tasks, the Samsung 970 EVO plus is still slightly faster. However, if you have high queue depth, this drive will outperform almost everything else, including most PCIe Gen 4 NVME SSDs. Note that this drive requires 8 PCIe Gen 3 lanes for full speed. This can affect the performance of high-end graphics cards on motherboards…

Already opened and the data on it has already been written and erased.

Opened the package with my new CD which made me so happy. I took the box to find a hacky slab. It was quite obvious that the product had not previously been in the original packaging. I installed it on my computer and although it works as expected, when I looked at the drive with some software I use to manage my drives and run tests, I realized that someone had already used this drive and had probably returned it. I paid for a brand new disc, not an opened box. Absolutely ridiculous. I went…

I have lost my operating system more than once.

Very poor grip. If you don't have MSI motherboard, don't worry, it's better to have the correct model number. I've lost my OS several times installing it on a new Dell Precision Tower.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks

Had to reinstall windows for it to boot

I tried to clone my old hard drive with 3 different programs. They all worked, but I couldn't make the new drive bootable. Had to reinstall windows and all my stuff from scratch (not perfect but my system was over 5 years old and needed a fresh copy). Overall very happy with the speed as it is more than 5x faster than my old one. sata ssd from samsung.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Expensive

I bought this product to finally try NVMe SSD. The PCI-E interface used is good for compatibility, especially with motherboards that don't have the latest NVMe SSD interface. Anyway 5/5 for gaming memory and read/write speeds for memory and gaming. Installation, as they say, plug and play. However, you may need to set the NVMe SSD storage option in BIOS for the computer to recognize 100% of its speed. I had to do that, after that you'll shine quickly. 5/5 stars!

Pros
  • Up to 4TB capacity to store your games

Slow cooling

I use it as game drive on my Asus Rampage IV Extreme x79 motherboard. I noticed a noticeable difference when loading games. It seems to be getting quite hot on my system, although that may be my fault as I installed it in a PCI 3 slot, between two 2080 Tis in SLI. I have a Noctua 140mm industrial fan connected directly to the PCI expansion, but this add-on card cools much slower than my graphics cards. It's normal for it to reach temperatures of 75°C when gaming or benchmarking. Graphics cards…

Pros
  • Bootable and easy to install RAID0 solution with PCIe slot
Cons
  • Disappear

A computer repair technician's perspective

I've owned this drive for about two weeks now. It's terribly fast, but has a few downsides: 1. It uses 2 NVMe SSDs in RAID. This means that the probability of failure is TWICE higher than a regular NVMe SSD, since if one of them fails, the drive will stop working. Whether you can just replace these SSDs and rebuild the RAID array remains to be seen.2. The write resistance is pathetic. Only 400TB. The 2TB Samsung 980 Pro costs $150 less than the 2TB WD version and has a write capacity of 1200TB.

Pros
  • PCIe Gen3 technology provides access to insane read/write speeds of up to 6500/4100 MB/s
Cons
  • Doubtful
