Excellent quality, washable/reusable.

These are amazing filters. A good compromise between filtration, airflow and durability. They can be gently washed and reused. Just don't twist. lying in the sink. Spray some warm soapy water on the backing and then let dry. The thickness is about 1/2 inch. NOT made of fiberglass. They can get wet (if you have dripping air conditioning) and STILL work. From time to time I soak them in warm water with white vinegar just to disinfect them.

The right filter for my needs

I chose this type of filter to avoid having to buy a new one every month. I bought this filter to replace another filter of the same brand. The latter served for several years until it wore out. This filter is pretty much the same. I was able to crop it to the frame I already have and the filter works the same as the previous one. Unfortunately, after the first wash, the layers of the new filter delaminate. There is no damage, but now you have to collect it again after every wash. Although…

Suitable for many uses

I have been using these filters on 2 air conditioners for 5 years with no problems. I change them every two years, which isn't really necessary, but it's my decision. I wash them once a month during the chilly season. There are no instructions, but common sense dictates that the green part should face the front of the air conditioner, as with the intake air. I use these filters not only in my air conditioners, but also on my desktop PC for dust protection. And in my air purifier as a pre-filter

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes

  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

A must-have item for portable air conditioners!

Absolutely fantastic for a portable air conditioner. Cut a round piece and stick it in the intake pipe - the difference between day and night. The air is phenomenally cleaner and smells cleaner. I can't believe I went so long without it. And with that in mind, I can't believe that portable air conditioners are being sold without an outdoor air filter. Amazing difference. One more note. I compared this to a charcoal filter that does the same thing. With this filter, the air smells fresher and…

The replacement filter works fine.

With my old device, too much dust got into the coil, which I wanted to prevent with my new device. I bought an adjustable filter from Home Depot and fitted it to my air conditioner. The "original" ECOFilter I first bought in HD required a replaceable inner liner, and being a reusable filter it catches a lot of dust. The only disadvantage of this type of filter is that you have to clean it carefully, otherwise dust will get into the internal filter and it will be difficult to remove. When I…
