I tried this weight-requiring homemade two-plate, two-screw press. I like that it contains liquid and can be pressed lightly at first and then tightened. This way you don't break the stone on the first click. The clips are securely attached and not too heavy. I've only used it 4 times so can't comment on durability yet but seems solid.

Easy to use, fits two Costco Blocks of Tofu (indented) and does the job. I've only used it three times but I've been very satisfied. I press for several hours, leaving it in the fridge and pressing harder from time to time. My only issue is that I would like the water collection area to be larger as I have to unscrew and drain it halfway. but I'm pushing two blocks, so overall it's a bit of a problem.

I am very happy about it! Used it for two blocks of tofu for the first time last night. I did this in the fridge overnight and this morning the blocks were well compressed and lots of water came out. I was able to take out the pressed tofu without any damage or cracks. Thanks to the clever placement of the four springs at the corners and the centered spiral compression, the pressure was applied very evenly. Two slices of tofu (from Costco, so maybe more than normal) barely fit in, but still…

It presses TOFU of course but overall it has many design flaws which are listed below. It's billed as the largest tofu press, but it can't make 2 standard sized tofu blocks at once, max 1.5 that could fit, so "big but not big enough" means it's just not a comfortable size . If I could do 2 blocks at once all other problems would be in the shadows. The springs below do not fit. They have ridges but they pop out when washed so you have to constantly change all 4 springs with every use. The…
