To put it on a shirt, department stores offer more attractive models that are not so embarrassing to wear. "Pearl" gems look too painted on/faux and are awkward to wear when worn as a brooch on the head. Not sure what they would look like for other uses. However, they were well packaged. I had low expectations when I bought them. I was expecting them to be cheap plastic brooches but I was fine with that because I needed one for Halloween. When they arrived I was very impressed with their weight and how beautiful they looked! Of course, these brooches are tasteless, but they are designed to be. A bead on one of the brooches fell off while I was holding it, but a drop of glue didn't fix it. They look exactly like the picture and worked well for what I needed them for.

I am very satisfied with the brooches. They correspond to the description and even more. The clarity of the luster is excellent. I would definitely order again.
