Smooth welding when welding and brazing

I run them from a Lincoln DC portable welder, made an excellent weld outdoors but the coupon excellent welding rods with a lot less smoke

They work fine

They worked acceptably on a cold steel 1/8" round and a 1/4" flat that I welded together. I should add that this was my first attempt at welding.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure

Hysterically Bad!: Stick Electrodes

I saw these 6011 sticks and found them interesting because they are low in manganese. I quickly realized that my curiosity would eventually be proven wrong. These rods are no different from the Lincoln 6011. They had terrible arcing strikes. You couldn't hold a crappy arc when trying to weld properly. Instead, I only got these rods to work by burying them in metal, which soon led to porosity due to poor flux. I have multiple rod welding certifications and these rods are ridiculously bad. DO NOT
