Good value for money, best TIG welder

This item was bought twice. Very good value compared to what they charge at the local weld shop. They wanted $50 for a box of ten. With free Prime shipping and no sales tax for $20, this really is the best deal. As for the quality of the weld, if I can compare it to other brands, I can't say. I weld both steel and aluminum with this electrode with good results.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Minor problems

Excellent results with aluminum

New to TIG welding aluminum. I've used pure tungsten and kept getting dirty. I had to grind the tungsten for each weld and it spat and stuck to me. Switched to 2% Ceriate and it made a HUGE difference. Smooth welding and the ability to weld 20 or more beads without regrinding. Very happy with these electrodes, they make great welds.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibrations
Cons
  • Low maintenance

Perfect size for aluminum sheet!

I've been MIG welding for a few years and I've always wanted to work on aluminium. This rod size changed my results and my overall experience of welding very thin aluminum without burn through. It has managed to combine the Redbull cans together and they are thin. It is also practiced on an aluminum roof flood with a thickness of only 0.007. Couldn't have done it without her. Like another welder!

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Useless features

Good quality at least for the home player

I'm definitely not a professional welder, have a few hours of practice and some time in the workshop. I got them to give me maximum flexibility when I want to work with steel or aluminum. I've only used them on steel before, but they've worked great in both the Lincoln and my Vulcan at home. Good price compared to what my local shop had at the time.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Protection

Amazing electrodes, best welders

I'm new to TIG welding but they were very easy to use! I expected to burn my first electrode, bury it in a pool of sweat, and otherwise abuse it, but none of this happened. I cut the first electrode into 3 pieces, carefully sharpened them with a Dremel cutting wheel and cordless drill, and after about 6 feet of welding on my first, installed them in a flashlight with a #5 cup and a 5/16" overhang electrode. I love her!

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Doubtful

I'm a tea welder. - Welding machines and accessories

I am a welder and I cook all day. I usually use branded tungsten but locally at $120 for ten packs versus $40 for Revain I tried this one. long. I only gave it 4 stars because I'm not 100% sure and working on the code I'm not sure if it's acceptable or not. But if you TIG weld for fun or don't work with code. I highly recommend.

The most reliable product and company.

I've been using Midwest Tungsten for a while now and can honestly say I've never been disappointed. Their craftsmanship is amazing, their customer support notifying you of orders is phenomenal and they have a quality product. Not only do I use their lanthanized tungsten, I use their pure and cerium tungsten. So far none of them have let me down. I am also very satisfied with sizes from 1/16" to 1/8". Pros
  • Nice package
Cons
  • Can't remember

I'm learning TIG welding so I'm not an expert on tungsten electrodes. They are certainly as good as the cerium electrodes that Miller packaged with his Miller Dynasty 210 turnkey system, considering that Midwest Tungsten Service's cerium-tungsten electrodes perform the same as the electrodes supplied by Miller and that all Midwest Tungsten electrodes are significantly cheaper than the electrodes that Miller sells, I will be buying all Midwest Tungsten Service TIG TIG electrodes in the future.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions

Great tungsten at a great price

I only use red and green tungsten in my job and we mostly weld aluminum but sometimes make steel and stainless steel. I use an old Miller Synchrowave 350 and this gray tungsten has improved every aspect of my welds. You start out a little lighter and the cleaning action around the weld is much tighter. I also noticed the increased clarity of the welded nickels. This may be because sharpened tungsten stays sharp and even the smallest rounded tip stays that way. I would definitely recommend this…

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure
