Better than a wet sponge

I used to always use a wet sponge and then I read about it. It does an excellent job of cleaning/tinning without lowering the temperature of the iron.

Pros
  • Tools and Household Goods
Cons
  • There are disadvantages

Works well. Would like a heavier base

Copper sponge cleans soldering iron tip well. I've seen heavier sponge floors and would like to buy one of these. This works well when I have a free hand to hold the base in place or just need to lightly rub the top.

Pros
  • Soldering and soldering supplies
Cons
  • Crumpled

A well thought-out soldering tip cleaner.

I like that it's made of silicone which can withstand the heat of a soldering iron. I have used milled brass in the past so its performance is as expected. The underside of the silicone portion of the device fits snugly against the base, so I don't expect fine particles of solder to end up on the mat underneath.

Pros
  • Welding and Soldering
Cons
  • Quick Start Guide

Works perfectly! Best in Parts & Accessories

As a car mechanic I used to use a small damp sponge to clean the tip and it worked fine the entire time. I saw a YouTuber using one and decided to give it a try. This works great, especially when you're in a tight space, as you don't have to wrestle with a wet sponge. Just push the tip, twist a little and voila! Super clean. It has a soft rubberized silicone cover that can be placed vertically or pushed into a holding position, and you don't have to worry about the brass grille inside…

Pros
  • Tip Cleaner
Cons
  • Interval

What is the difference with a wet sponge.

I wish I had bought many years ago. An excellent soldering tip cleaner that will extend the life of your soldering tip. I had no issues with what others have complained about the base being too light. Seems stable to me. I highly recommend this item.

Pros
  • Spare parts and accessories
Cons
  • I don't remember, but there was something
