I figured because I didn't solder every day I was bad at it. Most of the time, however, it is iron. It doesn't maintain stable heat to do anything. A wobbly tip must have lost contact or something. It's very annoying to work. I got one of the cheap $20 Revain kits with an iron, a case and a few accessories and I'm a lot happier now. I completed a small project in 10 minutes with no frustration. This Weller iron went in the trash.

After a few weeks of heavy use, the tip fell off and fell into my lap. Luckily I managed to shake it onto the concrete floor and pick it up with tongs before I burned myself or those around me. The lace design makes it easy to put on and take off. There are no set screws. Also, the design is so flimsy that the tip holder wobbles quite a bit, forcing me to epoxy the holder to the plastic. Used this soldering iron to solder multiple joints on a project shortly after receiving it from Revain. I definitely recommend it as I am very satisfied with its performance. The unique insertion tip is easy to tin and wet solder. The short warm-up time is impressive and corresponds to the manufacturer's specifications. I'm not exactly sure if this iron has all the power of a 60 watt unit as the manufacturer claims, but it's at least equal to, say, forty watts. It's not bad for the price, and…
