Reliable Westcott product

Good umbrella. The material is what you would expect at this price. Good quality lighting. Not built to last, but useful for a while.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Not as good as it says

Removable cover won't fit without a needle and thread

Well built although a little smaller than expected. Heavy material that should hold up over time. The definition of the manufacturers of change and refills is very different. The black cover is actually removable. Once. After that you will need to sew it back to the umbrella's spokes as it is currently sewn/tied to the ends of the spokes.

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • I'll add later

The cover is DISCONNECTED. Excellent value for a 2-in-1 bounce/shoot.

First, I would like to address the mention of the non-removable lid in another customer review. The lid is sewn in metal spikes, that's right. BUT the metal tips themselves actually detach from the ends of the umbrellas. I think the buyer didn't understand how it works. I will attach photos. Otherwise a good price for a sturdy umbrella that you can shoot through OR use as a reflective umbrella with the cap on. Very diverse.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Almost never

Received in excellent condition, packed in a box with lots of paper.

I have several Westcott modifiers, a 24" Apollo, a 52" softbox that I use with 2-3 flashes, but I had to shoot through an umbrella for portraits, so I have this one ordered. It arrived yesterday and I opened and checked it. Received in perfect condition, packed in a box with lots of paper padding. I thought it was a bit small but I did a portrait shoot with it today and it was perfect for fill light and I didn't even remove the cap. I really like this modifier, it's very well built and sturdy…

Pros
  • Quick change
Cons
  • Crumpled

Good umbrella but watch the size - it's small

Great little umbrella. Can be packed as it's quite short, but it's also a bit small for soft light. No problem with the product itself as I knew I'd buy it, just a reminder for people reading this: you might want to consider the 45 inch version. As expected, the black cover is easy to remove and just as easy to put back on, it doesn't last long, but I don't expect that from an umbrella anyway - neither photographically nor in the rain.

Pros
  • Done
Cons
  • Some issues

Economical and does the job

This is a very well made umbrella for the price. The handle is solid metal and painted black so it doesn't have dents or scratches like my other umbrellas. The interior is finished in Satin Silver/White, which offers no color shifts. The black cover comes off easily, although it may take a few minutes on the first try. This umbrella was made for photography, it's not a regular umbrella that has been modified so I'm sure it will last a little longer. I like the 32" size which is perfect for solo

Pros
  • Always liked
Cons
  • I won't say anything

A little small but does its job and fits in my luggage

I needed new shooting umbrellas so I went with these. I love that Westcott is now using fiberglass fins as they flex a bit and seem to hold up better than metal fins. Metal is always deformed. I also like the versatility of being able to use it as a cross (lid off) or rebound (with cap) or as a flag depending on your needs. The size is a bit small but they fit in my travel luggage so I just work with them. It's an umbrella, so I don't expect it to last forever, and wind is an issue when…
