Whether you're shooting portraits, product photography, or any other type of studio work, the FJ400 delivers consistent and natural-looking lighting. Additionally, the strobe offers flash increments of either 0.1 or 1.0 stops, giving you precise control over your lighting output and allowing for fine adjustments to achieve the desired look.

A good product at Monolights

The flash works well with my NikonD750. This is my first flash so I have nothing to compare the recycle time to but I am happy with this purchase.

Pros
  • is clear, even the old
Cons
  • has flaws

Product 5 Stars, Seller 1

The system is excellent. The seller is not very good. When it arrived it looked used and the box was in very poor condition. I sent it back and got a replacement. Same bad packaging. Article 5 Seller 1

Pros
  • Useful not only for its intended purpose
Cons
  • Little things

Perfect for small shoots!

This kit was a game changer. The flash can be easily attached and removed during recording. The flash remote control attached to the camera is difficult to move. I use a small knife to tighten it properly.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Annoying

Good set at a good price

We have reviewed various sets of lighting and accessories from Westcott. This is a great price for all you get. Great starter kit with trigger, softbox and strobe. The tripod is also of good quality. I updated the bee alien lanterns and I love it! I just need one more flash to get back to 2 flashes.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Great for the price.

So far, so good. Initially it was packaged very well and the extra memory card was a great addition. The flash itself seems fragile, so be careful with it as it's large and replacing a bulb doesn't come cheap. As for quality, there's a good strong flash, and with modifiers it gets a lot better. The Bowen mount is easy to use. The model's lamp can be used for video, but the fan is noisy, so take that into account. The fact that it's portable and plugs into an outlet makes it very versatile for…

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Great flash, but problems with the transmitter!

The Westcott FJ400 Strobe is a great strobe. I have two problems with this. First, I have two Nikon SB-5000 flashes that I wanted to use with flash. I've tried all ways to get the transmitter to fire them but to no avail. Second, the transmitter has a battery that needs to be charged. If the battery is dead on site, the transmitter will not work. Many transmitters use a double AA battery. If the batters are out, they can be replaced and continue shooting. In my opinion Westcott should have…

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Nothing
