Not the equivalent of "40W ", but the equivalent of "450 lumens ".

LED light bulbs have improved a lot in recent years. However, they differ slightly in color and light output from the incandescent bulbs for which they are sold as replacements. I can live with that but I'm a little tired of the misleading advertising. They have a similar but slightly lower light output compared to a standard 40W Soft White incandescent bulb. The soft whites put out around 480 lumens compared to the 450 lumens of this lamp. Color temperature is close to "soft white" but still…

Just what I needed

These bulbs are just what I needed. I've been looking for a lamp that meets all my criteria for a long time. It had to be small, around 40 watts, and capable of being used in a sealed device. The lights I need it for are ceiling mounted so changing the bulbs is not easy! I wanted a lightbulb that would last for years before needing to be replaced. I decided I really needed LED bulbs that are mercury free and use very little power. That's when I realized that most LED bulbs can't be used in…
