Review on πŸ’‘ Westinghouse 4513400 Medium Base LED Bulb, 40W Equivalent by Paul Stephenson

Just what I needed

These bulbs are just what I needed. I've been looking for a lamp that meets all my criteria for a long time. It had to be small, around 40 watts, and capable of being used in a sealed device. The lights I need it for are ceiling mounted so changing the bulbs is not easy! I wanted a lightbulb that would last for years before needing to be replaced. I decided I really needed LED bulbs that are mercury free and use very little power. That's when I realized that most LED bulbs can't be used in enclosed fixtures! I started looking for an alternative before realizing that indoor LED bulbs existed! I looked at the most well-known brands, all of which said they shouldn't be used in this way. Every time I thought I'd found the perfect lightbulb, I was disappointed by the news that it couldn't be used in an enclosed fixture. I finally started googling LED bulbs that can be used in indoor lights. I finally found some. Most of them were from brands I had never heard of, which is why I was so happy when I found some Westinghouse lightbulbs! When I saw this lightbulb I was so excited it was exactly what I was looking for! It was a small A15 bulb with a regular center socket. It gives 40 watts of light and uses only 5 watts of electricity! It lasts 15,000 hours, more than 13 years of use! I just ordered 4 pieces. They were packed very well with 3 layers of protection! There was an outer box, an inner box and each bulb was in its own very hard protective plastic sleeve so they all arrived in perfect condition. I put one of these in a hall light and it gives off the perfect amount of soft yellow and white light. I'm so glad I was able to find exactly what I needed!

Pros
  • Soft white finish, medium base, 450 lumens brightness, non-dimmable, waterproof, indoor use
Cons
  • Cord shorter than other options
