Great for Christmas or year-round decorative porch lighting!

I ordered this so I can hook up Christmas lights to it and control it with the switch on our glass front. That's a great little light! Nothing out of the ordinary but I love how bright it is now that we're using it alone. The fact that you can turn off the real light and just control what's plugged in with the appropriate switch is just stunning. I wish it was a little more stylish or customizable, but for the price, you really can't beat the functionality!

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

ok everything works as expected the glass seems strong enough

the instructions are not entirely clear which wire to connect to which wire but i got it working on the first try lol that Universal adapter you sent me. wasn't that versatile lol it was too big so i used the old one that was installed there, drilled a hole in the old one to run the ground wires and it was fixed. It only took me 5 extra minutes to find the drill lol. the socket works, the lamp works, only the socket works only when the switch is on, but that's not a big problem because I can't…

Very satisfied so far! Well made, as befits a classic Westinghouse product.

Just what I needed in my new bathroom as I didn't have a razor or Sonos outlets. The glass cover is very solid and well made, the body is also sufficient. I installed it in about 30 minutes. One of the units was not "hot" so the outlet is disabled when the lightbulb is off. Luckily the second one was plugged in so I didn't have to switch cables. However, if necessary, anyone with a basic knowledge of electrical engineering can make changes by simply unscrewing the connector and moving it from…

GRAD, you have no alibi, you are ugly!

The picture doesn't seem to capture how ugly the globe is on this one, but this is one of the very few wall sconces with a chain. The lamp is in the closet in the old house, so it fits in perfectly. My main concern was to replace a very old porcelain light fixture that had questionable wiring due to the aesthetics of this particular globe and light fixture. The bracket differs from the instructions. I've changed lights and switches before, so this wasn't new to me. Take a minute or two to…

good value for money

works great. You need to connect it to a ground wire if you want the outlet to be grounded (i.e. you need to connect it to black, white and green or it won't be a grounded outlet). Installation is simple and straightforward, all hardware included. I like that turning off the light doesn't affect the outlet in any way. I actually installed it on my back porch and the cord that goes there is controlled by a switch inside. So I can switch off both the light and the socket from the inside if I…

Permanent light/socket combination

My mother has an old house where the number of sockets is limited, so she has such lamps in her bedrooms. They also come in handy when you just want to plug something in for a few minutes. I bought this to replace an old one so I can reuse the screw holes with slightly larger screws. These lights are easy to install but on a scale of 1 to 5 the ease was a 3 because it was difficult to cram all the wiring to keep the light flush with the wall. I ended up dropping the ground wire nut and…

Poor production

Bought two because they were cheap and solved the problem of socket availability and safety. I was looking forward to installing them, they reminded me of the light fixture my grandfather had in the bathroom. The first installation dealing with wired connections throughout was a pain. I pushed them from all sides and tried to slide them under the base without damaging it. The base is not very strong, rather thin. The lens cap fell off and survived, it's solid. I was about to install the second…
