Great for washing into a van conversion

Installed in a car wash on a converted van last month. She pumps water from a canister to a sink. Works perfectly. We used hose clamps to keep the hose from popping out and spilling the canister on the floor.

Pros
  • Everything is great!
Cons
  • The list is getting long.

Better quality than other sellers

Had to rotate the yoke to fit the yokes without the large tube light that kept the top in the way. I personally think the quality is good. For that reason, take off the yoke, shrug off your boot, and use a marine or water-grade RTV, available at car dealerships or online. A thin layer keeps it nice and waterproof. Also, be careful when tightening the hose clamp, it can bite into the initially flimsy rubber and wear it down.

Pros
  • Beautifully packaged
Cons
  • Faulty

Construction not strong enough

Easy to install and use. And it worked fine for just over six months. I was very happy with this purchase until it started leaking. But now there seems to be no way to stop the leak. Tried cleaning and installing new O-rings. But nothing seems to stop the constant leak. So it became pretty useless for me and I don't see the point in paying that much for just a few months of usage. There shouldn't be a reason it's built in a way that it can't last more than six months.

Pros
  • Robust design
Cons
  • Quality

Licking out of the box.

I bought this one month ago and finally installed it. Easy right? Measure 1/2" tubing, cut to length, plug in, screw pump to desired pitch, done, right? Two days later, half a six gallon tank sits on my happily unfinished aluminum floor. I took this new pump apart and checked for any leaks The diaphragm was leaking. I taped it again, tightened all the screws, there is no plastic defect anywhere! MORE LEAK. No, I don't want to buy a repair kit for a brand new item. I'll live with it until I find

  • Great for me

Ideal for vans or small RV's

We use our whale leg every day in our RV as our main washing device (connected to fresh water and a 7 gallon gray tank). It works like an absolute charm and we love it. The construction is excellent. I'm deducting one star because after a few months of continuous use, very small cracks formed on the surface of the rubber and we had to repair it. However, US customer support was excellent and they immediately sent us a free service kit. Everything fixed and working great again. I would recommend

Pros
  • Top marks for hold and durability from testers
Cons
  • Volume

Rubber tastes and smells

I installed this foot pump in my van's water system. I wanted something that was easy to use and didn't require electricity to run. After setting it up I pumped a gallon to clean out the pipes and pump. It worked great. After a trip, the leaked water smelled and tasted like rubber. I pumped more water hoping it was what was in the pipes that was causing the smell. It still smelled of rubber. I contacted the seller and asked if there was anything I could do to reduce/fix this issue and they…

Perfect for standalone rain scrubber

I wanted to install a rainwater tank in my workshop. It worked great. At first I had doubts about the flow being enough, but the flow is fantastic. Please note that it will make a lot of noise when you first receive it before you install it. No noise after installation. It generates tremendous pressure that can easily be sucked from the bottom of a 50 gallon water butt through a 6 foot 1/2 inch hose. Once water enters the hose, it will not flow back. He keeps his position. First it takes 4-5…

  • Good product for the price
