    GREAT SCANNER WITH EVERYTHING

I like this scanner. I am a licensed communications professional and have had many shortwave and search radios. This scanner is far superior to the best in terms of size, sound quality and reception. I like the fully backlit display and buttons because I watch late at night. If you buy this scanner, don't even think about programming it by hand. Pay a subscription to RadioReference.com and program the scanner from your computer. It's really fun and hard to program. And when you travel to other…

A great scanner at a price that won't break you.

This is a great scanner at an affordable price. I have had several scanners over the years. This was in the price range I was willing to pay. I read the reviews and decided to give it a try even though there were a lot of negative reviews. I am happy with my purchase. If you are not tech savvy or unfamiliar with radio, you can skip this section. A lot of the negative reviews came from people who just couldn't understand this scanner. Once you set it up, it's very easy to create and modify scan…

Reliable construction at a low price.

EDIT** I'm completely amazed by the number of bad reviews blaming the scanner for a misunderstanding on the part of the buyer. This scanner arrives at your door unprogrammed and you need to enter the required data in order for it to work. The data is freely available. There is no need to pay a monthly fee or subscription to program this scanner. You can program this scanner manually. But the days of introducing an analog frequency pair are mostly over. Most systems require at least control…
