🏡 Autmotive Authority RV Trailer White Plastic Attic/Plumbing Vent Cover for 1-1/2" Pipe Diameter Review

I installed them on the roof of my van in Innsbruck and they seem to be holding up well. The real test will be a long period of exposure to UV rays.

This has a metal clip that inserts into the tube to hold the cap. Others have multiple plastic pieces that snap together to hold the cap. I returned it for one of a different kind.

Old caps shattered from the sun lasted 9 years. I didn't change the base, I just put new caps. It took me longer to get the ladder out than to replace it.

This replaces the exact same model that was already on the van, only the top part came off leaving the 'stern tube' open to the elements exposed. A single screw holds the top cover to the bottom. So we replaced the new top with the old bottom (fits perfectly!) and screwed it on with a screw. We don't know how long that lasts - the pipe was opened when we bought an RV a few months ago. It might last a long time. With hope.

In June 2019 I purchased one of these vent caps to replace one of the three original OEM roof caps on my 2011 Keystone Cougar 5th Wheel RV. I bought two more in February 2020 to replace the other two vent covers. In all three cases, the original vent covers became brittle, cracked and broke due to deteriorating solar radiation.
