Description of π Whiteside UDC9112 Spiral Combo
Compression spiral technology. 7/8" diameter for higher shear angles. Novice approved for creating perfect edges. Combination bit design with top and bottom bearing.
I know the price seems high but this compression bit is amazing. There are absolutely no gaps at the end sections. You can climb like a dream if you're worried about the end grain work (which I did). Screw up a completed major template project with a standard flush rosette and you've already paid for that fixture.
This is a quality bit that does everything I ask of it except for tight small radius corners, which is par for the course given its size. All of this means that this thing is excellent in every way, and I'd recommend buying it if you're at all interested in wildcard routing. Worth the price. I wish I hadn't waited so long to buy it.
Perfect. The cut is even. I mean VERY smooth on both sides of the tree because this cutter has a combined helical direction. I have many spray jets, some of them spiral, but this is the best. I especially like the dual storage - you can use the up/down jig without changing the bit or changing the jig. Very useful when you cut up/down a template with the same template attached.
Phenomenal bit! I had to make about a hundred curly maple display panels that required cutting both the edge and the end. If I didn't have to worry about tearing the end grains let alone the cross grains of figured maple I would have saved hours (which =$$). This bit will cut through any board leaving the glass surface with no burn through and absolutely no cracks. The last haircut was just as perfect as the first. I've tried dozens of samples and there is absolutely no comparison to thisβ¦
I've paid more for a router than I've paid for a set of forty-plus bits. I craved this for a long time before deciding to quit and treat myself and it turned out to be a treasure. I don't have to worry as much about grain direction and it gives me the cleanest cuts with minimal tearing. I want it to be a full diameter of 1" instead of 7/8" as that would work better for the internal flush with a 1/2" radius. If you read about it on Jonathan Katz Moses' YouTube channel then it's cheaper to buy aβ¦
This thing is a beast. This is truly the only flush cutter you will ever need. If you're doing any type of boilerplate work, you need this bit. I made a coat hanger out of walnut, and no matter how carefully I tried to trim off the excess with the traditional straight die, it continued to cling to the fibers and ejected the work piece like a rocket, which is both infinitely annoying and very dangerous. I watched a few YouTube videos about pattern routing that led me to this. The price confusedβ¦
The absolute king of all junk! That means it's probably the best beat in the world. my oh so sweet Rudy (Festool OF2200)π¦πππππ). It's a combo helix, so you can go either way when milling those tricky curves and areas (no need to worry with or against the grain), although katana's sharp edges confuse me at times. because I feel like pounding cookie butter in the kitchen instead of picking plywood! π€·π»ββοΈπ€¦π½ββοΈππππ€£π€£π€£π€£π€£π€£π€£Sooooo silky smooth!
