More expensive than listed Max Cat

I was concerned my cat would not like it after years of using Nutro Max Cat Adult but had no problems. The food is no longer in the form of small cats, but that was more for me - the cat doesn't care. The zipper is good too. My main issue is that it's way more expensive than Nutro Max Cat which I've been using for years. I would pay $12 to $15 for a 14 pound bag of groceries and have it delivered every few months. Max Cat was a great price that I couldn't find in any other store or brand. Nutro

much better choice

I was concerned that cats would not eat the replacement I chose for a discontinued Max Cat with a similar salmon flavor. So far (first bag) cats seem to take replacement. The four-year-old female began burping more times a month than the original Max cat. I don't know if that's a reaction to that food, aging, or something else. Update: While researching pet food review sites — where the manufacturer doesn't pay for advertising or otherwise influence the content — I found Nutro pet food to be…

My house cats now refuse other food

I used to feed a different brand of cat food. My cat ate it and was in great shape. When I switched them to Nutro, they flipped it. They ate like it was a treat! Broke up and bought my old brand. The shell stood untouched for 3 days. Remember they ate canned food, but when I tried to get them to eat, my only cat picked up a few pieces and then spat them out on the floor like it was a jalapeno. Lol When Nutro arrived it was a car ship but all three sat in front of me like it was Christmas. We…

Quaility Cat Food Best in Food

I have raised three Siberian Huskies from puppy to adult (2 males and 1 female, over 16 years old) on Nutro and they have all been free fed. They never ate too much, coat was excellent, skin and eyes were excellent, very healthy dogs all their lives. A small amount of hard stool, food was easy to digest. All three were house dogs, very calm and well-behaved. Now I have a cat, an internal cat, about 1 year old. I fed her another brand of food like salmon and brown rice with no problem. Decided…

Kittens don't like it as much as the discontinued Max Cat

I don't know why Nutro discontinued the Max Cat line but I tried it as a replacement. Unfortunately, the pieces have a different shape than Max Cat dry food and my cats don't like it that much. Max Cat had a thin, round cat-faced piece that my cats loved to nibble on. This Wholesome Essentials has a thicker piece shaped like a large orzo paste. I have some leftover Max Cat and if I mix it with Wholesome Essentials my cats will eat the Wholesome Essentials pieces and leave them in the bowl. But…
