Wilson GST Leather Game Football - Perfect for Youth Players! Review

My grandson was delighted with this Christmas present. I aired inside and the air was out before we got far enough into the yard to play ball. Will try to replace if possible and re-evaluate at this time. The replacement arrived inflated and has held air ever since. Good product when you can get a good one.

I've read reports of some of the problems people have had with these leaky balls, but I decided to take a chance. The ball arrived inflated but after my 9 year old squeezed the ball a bit to break it, it lost all air within 3 hours. I will go back and buy something other than the Wilson.

When ordering a leather GST, make sure you are actually getting the right product. It seems to be a general problem. I ordered a leather GST but received a much cheaper, lower quality composite GST. The return process has started so I will update once this is resolved. Just be sure to check what you're getting. Especially if it is ordered as a gift.

This is a great leather soccer ball for my 13 year old son (5ft 9in). He made the mistake of throwing it across the driveway. Since it's leather, it gets dirty on cement. Great ball for grass or turf. It's similar to the NFL's official game ball, only smaller and with white stripes. Like a leather ball, it won't get as slippery if you use it in the rain, but it needs to dry.

We bought these for our senior team and they were great. They do need some breaking in to soften them and remove the film that occurs during manufacture, but once that's done I think they're a great ball. I love them so much I'm buying my boy a plus size for Christmas to help him prepare for the plus size he will be using next year. Some people prefer synthetic balls, but if you're a bit old school and/or traditional like me, this ball is a great choice.

This ball is perfect for playing if you spend an hour or so preparing it. It's not that hard, just watch a YouTube video of NFL teams preparing their footballs and you'll be amazed. I've spent about three hours with this ball and it looks ten years old and feels fantastic. Just take the tac bar and apply conditioner and tactical spray on it, and 20 minutes before practice and games apply just a little conditioner, let it dry, then wipe the tac bar 2-3 times on each side, with apply with a…
