Not like the original

Not at all like the product image in detail. The design lacks detail and looks like a patch of red paint. It also didn't come in an official Wilson volleyball box; just wrapped in a plastic bag. Revain was "nice enough" to send it to me in a cardboard box instead of the usual plastic envelopes they've been using lately. Unfortunately, if I wanted to give it as a gift, I would have had to put it in the box it came in. I'm sure there are better replica volleyballs out there.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Almost never

Wilson joins the family!

I bought this for my daughter to take to the beach and on vacation. Ours lasted about 4 years before dying from normal wear and tear. My daughter's first reaction was "why the hell did you buy me a volleyball with a bloody handprint on it?" lol She had never seen Castaway so she had no idea about Wilson. She learned quickly when we took Wilson on vacation and people would yell "WILSON" every time they saw him. It didn't take long for her to realize how cool her volleyball was. Wherever we went,

If you're going to buy a volleyball, why not buy a Wilson?

Seriously, if you buy a volleyball featuring Jane's plane instead of Handsome (sorry for the pun) Wilson, you don't deserve it! We've played with him a few times, he's the best! It also doesn't hurt your wrists like cheap nameless joes! It's nice to talk to him, he won't reveal any secrets. He's also a celebrity who plays the voice of reason, but the snarky, loyal companion to Tom Hanks' character on Cast Away. In case you didn't recognize him. (He's done quite a bit of work since then)…

What's not to love?

This review is late but that just means I had more time to review it. My first impression of the ball was very skeptical considering it only came in its own box and with a receipt, nothing like most. The ball arrived well inflated and complete (note the ball was delivered to me at a very high altitude at the time which may have contributed to how full it was) - I had to deflate some before using it. My friends and I used it all summer on a beach style clay court and it held up well on impact…

  • Confident

WILSON! suitable for volleyball

A great thing if you like a castaway like me... also makes a great gift. Just don't buy it if you need a volleyball to play with. I haven't tried playing with it (because that wasn't the reason I bought it), but I don't find it very easy to play with. hard for a volleyball... it really looks like a ball but you might feel like you can't play it. Wilson's face from the front is way better than I expected, although it looks pretty much like Chuck in the movie. Finally...my only real complaint…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

I bought this for my son who has autism and has been totally obsessed with Outcast since he was 4 years old. Woody from Toy Story. He drags Wilson around and talks to him, repeats dialogue from the movie, sometimes puts him at a vantage point so Wilson can watch what my son is doing, and tells the volleyball he'll be right back if he leaves. Room. I'm not sure if this turn of events is exciting or troubling. However, Wilson is part of the family now and makes my son very happy. I just hope he…
