I needed an extra large heart shaped cutter and the large red one is perfect for this set. Its width is 5 inches at its widest point and 4 1/4 inches from the V-shaped part in the middle to the tip. It's strong and not too flexible, especially for its size. Cut out a large pizza in the shape of a heart.

I've used these cutters to make heart shaped toast and they cut the toast perfectly so I'm sure the cookies won't be a problem. It's nice to have different sizes, straight and jagged shapes. They don't cut your hands when squeezing, but if you're doing something coarser you might want to consider something else with a more comfortable grip.

These cut outs are just what I need for Valentine's Day cookies. Didn't think I would use the small ones but they are perfect for those extra chunks of dough and are the perfect size to pop in your mouth! I have found that the more frosting the better when it comes to cut outs and the cookies freeze very well. My friends were very impressed with my carving skills!
