🍝 Winco MS2K-10D Strainer: 10.5-Inch Diameter, Double Fine Mesh for Effective Filtering Review

I use this for home brewing and pour the wort into the fermenter, it's a nice size and fits all fermenters no more fiddling with funnel/filter units.

I agree with the previous reviewer that this is a well built and sturdy screen that definitely meets my needs. My biggest concern is how easily it rusts. the first time i used it to wash rice, rusty. Luckily I bought mine at my local restaurant supply store so it was a little less than what Revain sells it for. If I dropped that much on it, I would get very upset.

This strainer is big enough to put in a water bath (we process a lot of apple juice and need a larger strainer). It's solidly built. The handle and "hanging hook" are not soldered but integrated into the rim, reducing the problem of solder joints coming loose as with other filters. We bought an ExcelSteel Heavy Gauge Mesh Colander with Santopreme grips, 11-1/4", and the solder joints fell apart in transit. I bought the Double Fine Mesh Strainer but now Revain keeps pointing me to the Single Mesh Strainer so this review may be in the wrong place. I am disappointed with the manufacturer's interpretation of the term "double fine mesh". To me that would mean having two fine stitches (or maybe a stitch twice as thin as what they think is good, but what the heck does that mean?).
