Not what I was looking for.

Despite the variety of blades, it doesn't have the sharp everyday straight blade I was looking for. There is a small gap between the blade and the platform that will catch what you cut and hit. Mine is a bit bent too. Even though my husband corrected it with a rubber mallet, it's still stuck. It takes a little muscle power to cut a carrot. Too much money for what it is.

Pros
  • Mandolins & Slicers
Cons
  • Long Wait

dull blade - don't waste your money

I was expecting a better product as it was metal. This is normal with soft vegetables like cucumbers. I got excellent cross cuts for cucumbers. But it's useless for bits, yams, etc. I bought a food dehydrator to make vegetable chips and the slices are warped making it impossible to dry evenly. I'm here to buy a plastic V-Slicer similar to what I've had before that worked great for half the price.

Pros
  • Kitchen Utensils and Gadgets
Cons
  • Everything is fine

This mandolin does NOT work

A few months ago I bought this mandolin for my husband as a gift. I opened it and used it the same day, and after the first use, the blades on one of the nozzles broke, the entire body of the mandolin was completely unstable. We have read the instructions and have owned a mandolin in the past - this is by far the WORST mandolin I have ever bought. I thought it was the best quality since it was stainless steel and $50 but I was wrong. THEN I emailed the company asking for a refund and they saidโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Kitchen and dining room
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Quality Hardware

After many hours of research, purchasing a professional quality mandolin over the cheaper plastic versions was the right decision. It complements other SS accessories in the kitchen when left on the counter. It comes with a small white plastic box to store 5 blades (looks cheap compared to the food slicer). I've seen a device with a carrying case and wish this one had one for storage. The instruction manual is minimal but sufficient. Two blades are inserted on the right, 3 are inserted on theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Mandolins

  • Makes me nervous
