Protects batteries from overcharge and discharge. Maximizes solar power production. Handles up to 30 amps of array current. Keeps 12 or 24 volt batteries properly charged. Electronic protections: overvoltage, reverse polarity, over current, excessive temperature and short circuit protected. LED's on the face of the charge controller indicate solar panel,battery, and load status. 12 volt batteries are maintained in a fully charged state. Works on lead acid batteries including AGM and flooded.

Wow Very good product

Incredible amount of features. Twilight function via solar panel output, day only, night only, time output or 24 hour download. Charging, load and continuity status LEDs help you troubleshoot your system with an incredibly sophisticated device. In old age you need all the benefits you can get.

Both work great with generators and portable power

We use them in conjunction with a solar panel to keep our service van's battery going. The truck has a Fill-Rite rear fuel pump with a 700 gallon fuel tank to fuel 4 water trucks, two Super 10 dump trucks and sweepers. Don't ever let me down on a truck. Also includes an inverter for charging grease guns.

Thank you Windy Nation. I was having problems with my system producing more amps than I had configured. 50 amps generated by a 30 amp solar array. They recommended splitting the panels into 2 arrays (300W) and adding a second charge controller. As well as self-resetting 30 amp circuit breakers. Installation of the system in a standalone tiny house. Now it works perfectly. Definitely recommend and buy from Windy Nation.

Good value for money.

Good price and controller does the job well. It seems to have more energy in it than my old one. I'm a little wary of the connector plugs, they seem to be easily damaged with repeated use although I rarely unplug them. Be sure to connect the battery first and then the plates, and when disconnecting, first disconnect the plates and then the battery as instructed.

The P30 failed after just a few months.

P30 failed after just a few months of use and ate a few batteries (battery cases were dented and cracked from overcharging) -- I tried a second battery after the first one died, hoping that my first The battery was old or defective, but the charger also destroyed the second battery. I have reported the issue to WindyNation, along with photos of the damaged batteries and voltage readings of the PV panel, battery and load. Bare bones features, great price. It works.

I've been using this for about a month now for my small 100 watt solar system in the garden. So far, so good. It worked consistently and kept my battery charged. LED indicators are ok. A little more information would be great, but I knew what I was getting. I am planning to install a reverse amp hour meter to track charge/discharge status. The case looks a bit wobbly. The connections are fine, but the wires definitely need some loosening after they come out of the controller. This is my first…
