BEFORE USE I SHOULD BREAK THEM IN HALF

Some are harder and some are softer but overall I love them. I break them in half and they're easier to manage.

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • Disappear

Must be charcoal!

This is amazing! Perfect for my charcoal drawings and to create a base. I can do a lot of art for 24 vines. Easy to use.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Sad device

Uncomfortable to use

I've tried several different vine and willow charcoals and this was my least favorite. Gray, poor opacity, and sometimes even rough (e.g. newspaper scratches and no charcoal comes out). Now I only use it for toning paper, but even that pisses me off sometimes.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • I'll write back later

Good grape charcoal when not dry.

Soft and works well. It doesn't darken or linger on the paper like other brands of charcoal. Also, put it in a sealed bag or jar after use. Little did I know that grapevine charcoal can dry out and become hard, rough, and prickly. Once dry, it is no longer a soft and smooth painting tool. Kind of a waste to buy more when it comes to this point.

Pros
  • nice little thing
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

So the delivery was great. This is where the good ends

DO. NO. TO BUY. Seriously, if you haven't read the other reviews for this product, read these. Product arrived quickly via Revain Prime and is totally undamaged so shipping was great. This is where the good ends. This product was dry and did not lend itself to soft grape charcoal as intended. It took a lot of rubbing in for a smooth application, and even then I wouldn't call it smooth. I used my art teacher's pattern and applied his charcoal like oil, it was fantastic. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Incredible price
