Description of Winsor Newton Classic Watercolor Pressed

Exceptionally resilient and durable, our watercolor paper will not warp or cockle even when saturated with large volumes of water. Made on a traditional cylinder mold. This ensures the fibers are interwoven, which gives the paper far greater strength and dimensional stability. Fibers are internally and externally sized, allowing it to withstand the roughest of techniques. Colors remain brilliant and intense. Cold pressed paper has a less textured finish and produces the brightest paintings. Its increased surface area holds more color and rejects more light. Our classic paper is constructed with 100Percent cellulose wooden pulp with pure spring water. 12 sheets per pad.

Too rough and not absorbent.

Terrible. I tried different colors and different brushes and the results were the same. It takes multiple strokes to cover what should be covered in one. It's not even good for practice. It's like there's a barrier that needs to be broken before the paint can settle.

Pros
  • Something above
Cons
  • Upgradable

Poor quality paper

I am a bit disappointed with this paper. I was hoping it would be as good as the Winsor & Newton colors but lacks the quality I was looking for. It can't take a lot of water without smearing and shedding fibers. However, it's thicker than most 140lb watercolor papers I've tried, which is good.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Too boring

Quality paper with no added texture.

I'm gradually returning to watercolor and I use any plain watercolor paper I can find. I decided to try this rug and am very happy with it. My colors blend much better and the color is easier to work with. The paper itself does not bend halfway under water. I would like to order a larger size soon.

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • Sun-Sun

JUST AWFUL.

Please do not buy. Please. Don't make my mistake. This is absolutely horrible watercolor paper. It just doesn't absorb water. The water just stands on the water. You have to cover the paper with cotton many times so that it absorbs it. I do NOT know how to get a good rating for this. He constantly lives with super stiff lines no matter how many different techniques I try. Shame on Winsor and Newton.

Luxurious and Unusual Paper Toilet Mat

Wow! I am very impressed with this watercolor notebook from WN! I've only tried two sheets but I can say I really like the paper! I believe the scattered full size leaves should be even better quality. In any case, this paper is almost like painting on canvas. :) I think it's close to a toilet rag! As a bonus, the sheets are perforated. If I wanted to paint something with more water, I peeled off the paper and attached it to a backing board (coroplast) to prevent warping. This paper has a very…

Surprisingly bad paper from a reputable company

I was dying to try this watercolor notebook. I take many Skillshare courses, I like to use larger paper and I prefer to keep my work in a book than on separate sheets. I like that I have a link that is easy to return to. I thought this pillow would be perfect! And knowing that this is W&N, an established brand in the watercolor community, I figured this notebook would be a huge asset. Unfortunately, I had a hard time with this paper. I'd say I'm an intermediate watercolor beginner, so not an…
