Black Oil should always be mixed when learning to paint as black tends to ruin any other intended color in your painting. The price for it is as good as the color gets more. Any brand you buy these days has a lot of oil mixed in with a small percentage of actual pigment.

Bought cheaper here than local craft store. It's much easier for an art student to order online than going to an art store, and it may or may not be my color. I love these oil paints. WARNING! read the paragraph carefully. If you want OIL PAINT, make sure it doesn't say OIL/Acrylic. I made that mistake once. My art teacher had to correct me. It was my fault, not the seller!

I'm new to oil painting - so can't comment on durability or how it compares to other oil brands - but as far as I can tell this is a great mid-range. Oil.
