It's really just a converted doorbell but it does the job very well. The tone selection includes all doorbell tones so it's obvious what it was originally designed for, but the horns are pluggable so you don't have to worry about batteries. Easy to install, sure to wake your spouse or caregiver in an emergency. With every alarm, all 3 stations are switched off. We have one station in each bedroom and a third station in the living room. Tips: Use a special tool to open round alarm clocks when you need a new battery. Install a square one with a small slot on the top for easy opening to replace this battery. Batteries last as long as garage door batteries. If you live alone this is not for you, house alarm only, not 911.
