My wife has knee pain (arthritis) which makes it very difficult for her to get up and down to get things from the lower cabinets. A few days ago she went down on the floor to get something from the other end of the house and couldn't get up. As mentioned by others, it worked great right out of the box. All you had to do was insert a battery in the sensory transmitter unit and set the desired alarm tone and volume on the receivers and the system worked. A very worthwhile investment.
