🔌 Wirenest FTDI Programming Cable and Remote Control: Ideal Replacement for Uniden Scanner USB-1 Review

Easier than messing around with serial adapters. Works fine for me in Win10Home on a Lenovo tablet which I mainly only use for radio programming - I don't use a Windows computer so I don't know if there are limitations. Seems well put together and sturdy, but I use it lightly and casually.

It was EXACTLY what I needed. It worked right away. I plugged it into my laptop and it immediately recognized it and updated the drivers. Once that was done, I connected to my BCT15X and uploaded my stuff with no issues. There was no point in selling the light, but now I see them in action, I want to know that they work. Drivers for this are Prolific FTDI drivers which you can find on the internet. I spent a lot of time identifying the chipset, but after opening it up and identifying the chip I was able to find the correct driver for it. The cable works perfectly, has been in service for about a year without any complaints. I use it in my scanner to monitor incoming serial data. He didn't let me down. Although these cables were cheaper.

It works but it took me an hour to get the laptop to talk to the cable. I had to find a driver for it and even paid for a subscription to a driver app, but I finally found it. It also took some time to set up the correct port number (USB). Otherwise, it has worked flawlessly since the initial setup.

I wish I still had the packaging so I could return this. This cable sucks. It has green and red LEDs and when they blink it causes noise in my reference radio stream. I bought another cable from another seller on eBay and the cable works much better. no noise I would not spend money on this cable.

I have another similar one. The problem with this particular purchase is that the connector that plugs into the scanner is not reliable. Sometimes it's easy to reverse the connector, which can damage the connector inside the scanner or the scanner itself. This is one of those things I will toss in my parts box and buy a better quality cable.
