🔍 WIX Filters 49012 Air Filter Panel - 1 Pack Review

I used to buy the cheapest Chinese filter I could find until I saw several reviews comparing different filters. These are filters with a very good rating. A little more expensive but does the job well. Surprisingly, they are NOT, I repeat, NOT made in China. Even more surprising was that the one I was told was made in Poland. I'm not sure I've ever seen a product labeled with this country but it's a good filter and I would definitely buy it again.

Looks like a well made product and was about half the price of a comparable O'Reilly air filter. It was quite difficult to remove the old filter and install a new one (16 Subaru Impreza) but it had nothing to do with the filter itself. Disassembling the filter assembly would make things easier, but I definitely avoid fiddling with the plastic screw terminals. Plastic screw clamps that so many car manufacturers have are the scourge of any DIY enthusiast.

Quality filter that fits my 2017 Forester exactly. 23 pleats versus 16 on the original means more surface area for airflow. The filter material appeared to be of the same material and density. The only small difference from the original was that the felt padding on the outer edge of the WIX is a bit thinner. Good filter at a good price. Matches my 2018 Outback perfectly. Also note that WIX has 24 folds compared to 15 for OEM. It was much easier to install when I placed it on and against the intake side (the side closest to the cabin) and then replaced this intake filter and housing combo. Box.
