Great idea for tool

I cycle long distances and I always have a hard time deciding what to take with me and what to leave. Packaging is just a risk management exercise. This tool is one of those tools that you'd like to have with you "for the time being" but don't want to lug around when you don't need it. It is well made and folds up. The magnetic storage for the two main links inside the tool is a great design. The only complaint I have is that it's quite heavy and I'm wondering if it can be made out of goodโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Absolutely brilliant!
Cons
  • Little things

Magnet problem in bike tools and maintenance

Cool little tool. Works well for removing sitelinks. I wasn't very happy with the magnets holding the extra links. The magnets only fix the links on one side, which makes the other end of the link rise up, so to speak. This made opening and closing the pliers quite awkward. After some time in my pocket, the magnets fell out completely and the dislocated links blocked the pliers. It was nice to discover this along the way while trying to use them. I ended up breaking it and now I have no optionโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Essential for enduro rides

I bought this the other day and I'm glad I did because the first time I rode it I broke a chain on my e-bike. Makes it insanely convenient to set up a new master link and save links conveniently within the tool itself. In a hip pack or camelback you don't notice the weight at all. A highly recommended unique tool to take with you in addition to your standard multi-tool multi-tool. The only downside, which is minor, is that the tire arm is metal, which should not be used on carbon rims. Butโ€ฆ

Good job wolf tooth

I was trying to decide between this and a half price quick release pliers. But they have more than one function and I've used the caliper and valve stem function a few times. I also used it to replace the tire levers in my backpack. What sealed the deal was remembering my last big mountain bike ride and knowing our group could use this a few times rather than improvising something to remove the quick connection on the trail (rope trick/the cable didn't work on the stubborn ones) and I realizedโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • I will add later

Now that I have a shiny new 11 speed transmission, I wanted a chain plier for touring and bike adventures that was lighter than my Park Tool pliers. These Wolf Tooth pliers came highly recommended to me online and in person so I figured at $35 it was worth it. Well, I can report that they are absolutely worth their money. I *love* the fact that it holds two quick releases in the grips and the magnetic closure is smooth. I'm pretty sure the pivot pin is also a chainring pin, which is prettyโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Best in the niche
Cons
  • Fits
