Frye-d and disappointed

Well made Frye boots as expected- a bit of roughness / fraying to the Harness edges that should have been trimmed during processing, but not a huge problem-just adds to the rugged look. These boots will be wonderful once they are broken in-like my other ones. Very tight to get on, as usual for new Harness boots-I used plastic bags and bare feet-which allowed them to slip right on- and back off just as easy using a boot jack-otherwise would not have gotten foot in/out to test for fit. Leather is…

Pros
  • Clothing, Shoes & Jewelry
Cons
  • The Nickel & Brass hardware can scratch easily, making the boots look worn out quickly

Great Boots good for me

I'd had my eye on these boots for over a year and finally bit the bullet and invested in them after finding what I knew to be a great price, especially for Frye. They fit great (I wear a 10, which fits me perfectly in 90% of shoes) - plenty of room so that my toes don't push against the end (a huge pet peeve of mine, especially for boots) and room for thicker socks, but not so big that my feet slosh around inside when I walk. While they do run a hair big, personally I would not recommend going…

Pros
  • Rubber sole
Cons
  • The Goodyear welt construction may be difficult to repair if damaged

Boot color in person

This is a very nice boot. The color in the picture threw me as I thought it might be golden or a marbled look. They are actually a pretty even medium brown. No yellow blotches. A very nice even medium brown. I am returning them because I didn't look closely enough at the stitching. It is very light, with a lighter boot base. This would make sense as the color of the boot is not super dark. I personally prefer the "tan" color boot with the darker stitching. I wear a size 8 and read so…

Pros
  • 1 ¾" HEEL HEIGHT
Cons
  • They may not be suitable for colder climates since they aren't insulated or lined

Did not want to send them back….

I tried both a size 9 and 8.5 from two different online companies. I first ordered a 9 which is my usual size boots, this was also my first introduction to the world of Frye boots so i was nervous when i read to order a half size down by most reviews on several different sites. I then ordered the 8.5 from ebay, which was a better price. They arrived in no time. As mentioned by many, there will heel slippage regardless, although this was not as noticeable with the 8.5. In fact, the only reason i

  • WITH ITS RUGGED RUBBER OUTSOLE, these motorcycle boots for women need a certain type to make them her own
Cons
  • The Frye Harness 12R boots may not be versatile enough to wear with various outfits and styles

Durable, Valuable, But Not the Most Comfortable

I bought these boots after spending a long time researching and considering which style and size to get. I usually wear a size 8.5 but ordered a size 8 because so many people reported that this boot runs large, and I'm glad I did - the fit feels pretty close to perfect. As with almost any type of leather boot, this pair needed to be broken in. I wore thick socks with them and wore them around the house a lot, and managed to escape most of the blisters and cuts that way.The leather of these boots

Pros
  • MADE IN USA with and sourced from domestic and imported products
Cons
  • The leather can be quite stiff and take a long time to soften up

Good for walk in my review

Made in the USA. I bought this black boots for traveling during winter season so I don't need to pack extra shoes. It's strong enough for daily long walks; the design is okay for afternoon tea / fine dining (because it's plain black). Easy to remove (I have a couple of Charlie Horse boots by Lucchese – my husband always helped me to remove). I put "Fit as expected” because I read some reviews mentioned it’s running small, and I learned from experience, so I always bought boots that 1/2 size…

Pros
  • 19 x 15 x 5 inches; 1.6 Pounds
Cons
  • The design of the boots can be too masculine and not feminine enough for some women
