Looks decent and I'm not exactly sure what I was expecting, but the mechanism is very difficult to get working. First, the assembly is not difficult, but it is detailed. My 8 year old son actually made this for his mom under supervision. But once assembled, the merry-go-round would not turn without assistance. In general, it turned out very beautiful. However, using toothpicks to hold everything together really sucks. Instead I used wood glue. Toothpicks break easily and won't go through tiny holes. I painted the parts before assembling them to give them more character. It's disappointing that it sticks together after assembly due to the wood rubbing against each other.
