Looks decent and I'm not exactly sure what I was expecting, but the mechanism is very difficult to get working. First, the assembly is not difficult, but it is detailed. My 8 year old son actually made this for his mom under supervision. But once assembled, the merry-go-round would not turn without assistance. I've taken it apart a few times and although we've improved it, it's still very unsteady and doesn't look like it does in the video at all. It just doesn't have enough strength to overcome structural friction. In the end, you need to make parts (axes, push rods, mounting pins) from your own toothpicks and assemble a rather complex mechanism from a stack of latches. Cork tree works exactly as you would expect.
