Made cheap. for brake tools

This tool is very cheaply made. The holes are the wrong size for 1/4 inch. had to borrow a neighbor's torch tool to finish the job. i will return it

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Can't remember

Perfect Tool - Brake Tools

Unlike older models that required a threaded end feed, this model allows you to mount the threaded part directly over the job to be done. Then simply turn the frame of the screw part about 20 degrees to lock it in this position. Great idea that I would never have thought of.

Pros
  • As far as satisfied
Cons
  • Weight

Works well for brake flare tools

Works well for 5/8" copper gas line. I did a few test flashes, found the optimum tuning location. It didn't need to be tightened with pliers or a wrench, I just used the handle on the Tool The resulting flare was clean and did not leak through the propane tank connection.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Disappear

Love it.: Brake Flaring Tools

I haven't used a flaring tool in many years. But I have a small project that requires me to make 4 bells out of 1/2" copper tubing. I don't want a cheap tool that won't last long. But I also don't want to spend a lot on 4 bells. Got this tool for mine today Project used.It worked flawlessly on all 4 rockets.I am very satisfied and would have no hesitation in recommending this tool to anyone.

  • Excellent Overall Performance

Best Value in Brake Tools

I used this when installing a mini AC split unit. It worked very well for flaring 1/4" pipe, but it took several attempts to flare 1/2" pipe. Care must be taken that the flaring rods are very tight around the tube, otherwise the tube will be pushed out of the flaring rods when the cone is screwed in. I used a vise and wing nut to secure the flare rods tightly around the pipe and it worked great. Great product for this money.

Cons

Works great once you figure out its functions

I've found I need to figure out all of its functions - Clamp the tube evenly between the two ends (watch for gaps, eliminate them if the wing nuts), how tight, how far to leave the flare tube and how much torque to apply when flaring. After some practice I started making perfect (to my mind) flares every time - my AC lead sets have been vacuum and pressure tested and will now last for hours with these flares.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • A few little things

Cheaply made in Tools & Equipment

This product will help with highlights but it's cheap and gross. I had to flare out a 1/4 inch waterline. The first thing to notice is that the "1/4" stamp is actually over the 5/16 hole. Sizes are stamped on the left. Look closely at the tool and you will see that the marks are misaligned. The second part is the rough finish. Tiny scratches remained on the copper tube after flaring. If tight, they leaked a little when the water was turned on. Nothing fancy but if you plan on using this on a…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Good base tool for tools and equipment

I already had a double flare tool but I needed a flare tool for the cooling lines. This kit clamped the copper pipes as well as the more expensive dual flare kit I already had and made perfect flares for the fittings. As this is a single flare kit there are no dies to measure how much of the tube to strip and you only need to flare one with a cone wrench. And with some grease on the cone (wiped off later to avoid contaminating the coolant) one shot was enough. A good basic tool for flaring…

Pros
  • Slim design
