The two inner rings were broken and all had roughness on the outer edge. I used them to frame the machine embroidery, just making sure the rough edges were facing backwards.

I received a package with one of the inner tires broken. The hoop is also a bit flimsy, and unless you're framing thicker fabric, it probably won't stretch enough around it. I use heavy linen so it's ok. And even though I received a broken tire, it was too difficult for me to return the whole set. I just won't buy these again.

When you're desperate, these tires are for you. Many of the hoops in the set I received were poorly glued, so the two pieces of wood bent together to form the inner hoop barely overlapped and had sharp edges sticking out. As a result, I made an oval inner hoop. If you're just putting one piece in, I would reinforce the area where the inner hoop was joined before you put your piece in (just in case). If you plan on using them for regular project use I would look elsewhere.

Many of my 8" tires had spots that were chipped or bent/deformed so the overall shape was not a true "round" shape. even to the untrained eye. I would never use them for my embroidery business. It may be ok to use them for decoration or other purposes, but please stay away from them in a professional setting or as a gift. I was so disappointed in their quality.
