Description of Dual Multipurpose Puck 🔪 Sharpener - Wyvern Products Sharpening

✧LARGE, FUNCTIONAL DESIGN - The axe sharpening stone measures 3.75 inches x 1 inch, giving the user a 44% larger sharpening area to use while still easily fitting in your pocket, toolbox or backpack. ✧HIGH QUALITY MATERIALS - Our axe sharpening stone is made of silicon carbide (carborundum), a material widely used as an abrasive for over 120 years due to its exceptional hardness and high strength. One of the more common uses for silicon carbide is in car brake pads. Other sharpeners are typically made of aluminum oxide, a material often used as “filler” in bricks and clay-based products. ✧DUAL GRIT - The coarse charcoal colored side (150 grit) of the axe sharpening stone is used to remove nicks and rough areas in the blade and the green side (320 grit) of the sharpening puck is used to refine and finish the edge of the blade. Both sides are labeled for easy identification. ✧MULTIPURPOSE AXE SHARPENER - It was thought that Abraham Lincoln said, “Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.” He didn’t say it but it is good advice. Your tool needs to be sharp to do the job. Our dual grit, sharpening puck can restore a sharp edge to your axe, hatchet, knife, machete and many other tools. ✧USE WET OR DRY - The sharpening puck can be used wet or dry and no honing oil is needed.

Disappointing dual sharpener for professionals

I recently purchased this dual sharpener for my automotive workshop but found it to be underwhelming. While it can sharpen both dull edges and contours, it feels flimsy and the abrasive grit wears off easily. The design is unattractive and feels more like a toy than a reliable tool for industrial and scientific uses.

Pros
  • Can sharpen both dull edges and contours
Cons
  • Flimsy design, abrasive grit wears off quickly

Great stone: Power & Hand Tools

Great splitting stone, have used it about 3 times since buying it and have had no problems with the stone or the blade attaching my axe, which I only use for chopping wood.

Pros
  • ✧ USE WET OR DRY - The grinding wheel can be used wet or dry, no honing oil required.
Cons
  • Available in white only

Handy Ax Sharpening Stone

The stone came well packaged (right size box). There was no buffing oil in the kit, but that's fine - you can buy it separately or use water. I used it for the first time last weekend and I've easily sharpened a camping ax that I've been using to cut bushes in my yard. I like the puck very much.

Pros
  • ✧ LARGE, FUNCTIONAL DESIGN - The ax sharpening stone measures 3.75" x 1" and gives the user 44% more sharpening surface, yet still fits easily in a pocket, tool box or backpack.
Cons
  • boring packaging
