Direct replacement for a broken 15 year old unit. If this one lasts that long, I can't praise it enough. Comes with a battery temperature sensor, so don't buy it.

Saved me several hundred dollars on this purchase! The folks in Colorado called me and made sure I knew what the shipment was and how to check it when it arrived. I installed it myself and so far it has worked like a charm. I would recommend this item from the same supplier if you need an inverter/charger for your RV.

They actually called me to verify what I bought and quizzed me to make sure my unit was beyond repair before I bought a new one. This is unheard of.

Our 2005 RV came equipped with a Zantrex Freedom 458 Inverter/Charger. 14 years of trouble free service. Unfortunately, due to a defective 50 ampere shore power cable, 220 volts were present at the inverter. Before the primary 30 amp circuit breakers could respond to the surge, the surge destroyed the semiconductor components.

I had a previous version of this unit and it worked great for 18 years until a hobbyist electrician tried connecting power from a generator to our Camper. BOOM.So I bought this replacement which was easy to install as all the wiring and connectors were the same as the dead block. The device works great and you can't go wrong buying and installing one of these devices. Simply the best.
