It's good for outdoor activities

It works, you just have to scrape it a few times to remove the protective coating. The scraping tool is a small touch. The bellows tube works best when you point the narrow end toward the fire.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Something different

Perfect for "GO/SHTF " bags

This set was the perfect size for my holdall. Originally bought to start a fire and the fire straw thing was kind of a bonus. The starter/fin works with the starter, although it can take a few times before a solid spark hits my starter stuff, it was what I was looking for to pack in my bag.

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • Hard to say

Normal product but buy from another seller (not XINISI)

It came without a striker (one such compartment was empty). I contacted the seller (XINISI) to rectify the situation but my message was ignored. This will come back and I will find another seller in the future.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Weight

Exactly as advertised!

This device has many modifications, most of which are more expensive (sometimes two or three times more expensive). I took a risk and it was worth it! The item arrived exactly as described (including bellows, mini split key ring, two spare o-rings and a spare iron rod) and was very easy to use. There is a strong spark and instructions on how to sharpen the striker (which I liked). Judging by first impressions and first hits, it seems pretty solid. Ferrorods are threaded for assembly into the…

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Minor repairability

Good tool; bad instructions

So I scraped the wrong parts of this tool together for a few minutes before realizing what the problem was. The steel colored part with a hole in it is NOT a striker - you're looking for a part attached to it that looks like a tiny rusty I-beam. Hold it as in the photo - with one of the flared edges against the shaft - press down hard enough to feel it bite, and scrape *quickly* all the way down. I found that once it started moving I had to decrease the pressure a bit if I wanted to get more…
