As a result of my tests, I determined that this button is a waste of money. It failed to work consistently and often required multiple attempts to activate. The carbon fiber appearance is the only thing it has going for it.

Authentic red carbon fiber material with glossy clear finish gives my F30 335i an even sportier look. Very easy to install. Before applying, clean the release button with rubbing alcohol and simply press firmly onto the existing button. The rich dark red carbon fiber doesn't come cheap, as do some of the other red plastic replacement buttons that seem to already be around the web. The text could be a bit bolder. A disadvantage would be that the light from the old button does not shine through…
