They're great for ham radio equipment

I haven't had any RF interference at the shack, but I'm adding equipment all the time. These clip-on cores help keep RF emissions away from vulnerable installations.

Pros
  • Reusable noise filter
Cons
  • Problems

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Inexpensive with sufficient performance.

The price is right, but based on the S21 with a VNA they only attenuate half the RF attenuation of a similar mix of Fair-Rite 43 ferrites. How well they work in other frequency bands I don't know.

Pros
  • Included
Cons
  • Doubtful

Good choice and works well with line noise

Maybe I'm expecting too much from these ferrite cores. While they appear to significantly reduce noise in electrical cords and speaker wire, they don't seem to do enough to remove interference from other nearby things, such as a TV. B. antenna cable to reduce. But the variety of sizes and overall price really can't be beat.

Pros
  • Reusable noise filter
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
