It's ok it worked but what does it really take to have some kind of rubber or some kind of grip on the three legs to Don't slip off putting them on. I will impregnate them with plastic, hopefully that will be enough. Update: I sprayed some gum on the 3 legs and it works 100% better when grabbing the filter.

Wow where was the tool?! I've never needed a tool, but the last couple of oil changes have been difficult because I've lost a lot of grip in my hands. This time it was child's play! Put a tool on the oil filter, turn the ratchet to tighten the legs, then a little twist and the filter comes loose! What a time saver!

This works well as others have said it can slip over the filter. I added feet to the plasti-dip and that seems to help. Due to the large number of different oil filters available today, there doesn't seem to be a standard for the diameter that the clamps adjust to accommodate this. The nice thing is that in today's cramped engine compartments, you have a little more flexibility with a socket wrench or combination wrench.

It's worth its weight in gold, a must have for anyone doing their own oil change. I had to use this on my son's BMW E90. The oil filter is enclosed in a plastic housing on top of the engine. Pretty cool design if the previous idiot hadn't tightened it with an impact wrench. Nothing we used could remove this cover until I tried this key. It's amazing how well this works. The only thing I had to do was tape around the plastic cover for extra grip and to protect the case. I took the key and voila!
