Good zoom monocular for the price

I was looking for a relatively cheap monocular for hiking and boating. I bought the cheaper Carson's but wanted a bigger step up. This is a very good light offering enough clarity for my needs. It's plastic so I don't expect it to last forever. If I have further problems I will edit this review.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • boring packaging

This monocular has a good zoom function. You can scan at a lower magnification and then zoom in if you notice something interesting. Looks very aesthetic. Mine only had one end cap and I've already lost it which doesn't really matter to me as I don't use the caps all the time as they are not attached. This is a good monocular to wear with a neck strap or fanny pack.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Very expensive

Fantastic in size and price

I am very happy with my purchase. It's small and light. Ideal for bird walks in the neighborhood. The optics were good for this price range. at 7x it was crisp from edge to edge. Remember that 7x magnification is the limit at which a normal person can balance. At 21x you need to put it on a rock or use a tripod. But I like being able to zoom higher (plus it gets darker with higher zoom). The strap is attached to a small piece of plastic that screws into the tripod hole. I see myself losing that

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Light, compact, does what it's supposed to do

Replacing the heavier components of my secondary emergency backpack with lighter ones. Specifically, replace Mosodo Crystal Clear 8-24X40 @ 10 oz with this 3 oz. The experience is almost identical at 1/3 the size, weight and lower price. This monocular isn't very durable but is surprisingly well built, the optics are bright for the price range. Increase as indicated. Impressed with the quality. The controls have a nice, grippy texture. The case is very smooth - like a PVC pipe, not suitable for
