Great radio for mobile use

Detachable head comes with all required mounting hardware and due to its smaller size compared to 400dr it can be easily installed in a vehicle. The screen (non-touch) is clearly visible in different lighting conditions. The APRS functionality is great, with customizable pop-up notifications showing you've received beacons, messages, etc. Each area has two dedicated knobs, making it easy to customize each one. Programming is fairly easy when done from the device itself, and even easier when…

Great radio! in Portable Audio & Video

I've been working as a radio amateur for 27 years, I have a top-class license. I go into digital radios and have a few. The FTM-300 is the BOMB for mobile use! Digital on bands A and B, large display, large buttons and MIC! MIC is HOME RUN with its shape and large MUTE button. Both receivers can yell when the phone rings and with a quick press of the large mute button I can answer the call. The menu is intuitive and similar to the FTM-400 and FT-3D (I have both). If you are considering mobile…

Mixed package here: CB Fixed Radios

I have Fusion FTM-400XDR, FTM-100DR and now FTM-300DR Mobile Line; I'm on my second device, having traded it in for another due to issues I'll address later. 400 stays at home and is too good for mobile use. Touch screen and driving are not the best solution when you need to set up the radio. The hardware buttons are still tactile without looking. 100 were mobile but will now run WiRES-X full-time with the HRI-200, which 400 were doing part-time. The color screen is good but small like the…

Amazing and Worth $$$

I don't normally buy Revain ham radio gear as I try to support ham radio shops so they don't end up like Radio Shack but this one came from Ham Radio Outlet anyway and it was a good deal. I've been switching between radio options for my Jeep for a few months now and have narrowed down the choice between the FTM-400 and FTM-300. The only thing that put me off the FTM-300 was the screen size, but I went for it anyway and I'm glad I did. The screen is very beautiful. It has excellent resolution…

IT HAS ALPHANUMERIC MEMORY MARKS!

Great little radio! And to the guy who wrote the review and said he predicted the impending demise of this radio based on the fact that it has no alphanumeric characters to remember. Well sir, I don't think you should try to miss Cleo. The radio allows you to set 16-character alphanumeric tags for each memory channel. For how to do this, see pages 39 and 40 of the FTM-300dr instruction manual. I suspect you don't even own this radio and even if you're ashamed your ignorance may affect other…
