Cheap and cheaply made

Two problems I encountered on first use: 1. The two largest bearings overlap the sides of the cutters when installed. You don't sit away from the tailors. When the end screw is tightened, the bearing presses against the side of the blades and locks the bearing in place, giving off small sparks as you cut. Um, wow.2. The end cap screw threads do not match well, and the socket head in the end cap screw does not match well either.

Lower price = lower quality in this case

The tolerances on this device are pretty sloppy. Everything was fine when setting up and testing with soft pine. When cutting cherry wood, the blade would snap, burn and become dull. Go ahead and spend the extra $ on Frued. As in the previous review, the yellow paint/coating came off almost immediately which is not a problem when the blade(s) stay true, but in this case unfortunately it was/is a quality mark. I will no longer buy Yakamoz products.

See what other users have to say first

And that's exactly what I did. So, based on feedback from others, I bought a Yakamoz router bit. True, I haven't used it yet, but I put it on the router, it doesn't cause vibration even at maximum speed, which means the bit is balanced. The cutting edges are smooth, a set of spare ball bearings is welcome. The price is very affordable even with shipping (I don't live in the US so I have to pay for shipping) so overall good value for money.

Pros
  • Cuts all composites, plywood, hardwoods and softwoods
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Chopper is the best of power and hand tools

I have to say I am very disappointed with this cutter. I used it to cut a channel at the back of a sliding door I had built out of poplar wood to accommodate a half inch piece of plywood furniture. The bit kicked and kicked and split and ripped out a ton of wood along the way, even though I only took 1/4 inch of material per pass. Now I have a ton of wood putty to fill in gaps that would never have come with a quality bit. It's good that I draw, not paint. If you plan to use this on hardwoods…

It didn't go well.

The cutter came on time and seemed to be exactly what I wanted, however on first use the bearing I used for the 3/8" tongue cut fell apart after only a few minutes of use. I understand that this can be a rare issue but I have messaged the company directly in hopes they could just send me a replacement bearing. That was a few weeks ago and I have not heard from them.I have since then one of the others has been using bearings with no problems but I still don't have the bearing I will be using the…
