I don't know why the original failed, but the replacement is very nice. Seems to be "lighter" than the original. Maybe not that strong? The time will show. The original remote lasted about 8 years with daily use. Well, let's see how long this one lasts.

Somehow we lost the remote control from the Yamaha receiver. I ordered this and it is identical to the one I have had for five years. I just put batteries in it and it worked. There was nothing to set up or do to use it. Simple and perfect.

The volume up and mute buttons on my old remote stopped working so I bought this GENUINE Yamaha replacement; Arrived the next day, batteries put in and started straight away! Throw away the old remote and I can run another 4 years! Ideal! Always buy original factory parts!

As with the Yamaha speaker remote, mine eventually failed when pressing the volume up button. I'm glad Revain has an inexpensive option for a new remote control. The remote control (and volume control) worked perfectly when received. Remote is gaining momentum in three months.

I have an old RX-V373 AV receiver and the remote that came with it had problems with the volume control as many have said. Exactly the same is no longer available but I was glad this RAV521 worked great with my receiver. Perhaps the best part is that this is an original Yamaha remote and not an unknown manufacturer. worth 20 dollars.
