Get a card with SATA power.

Never used. It turned out that my computer worked perfectly. I'm a techie and got everything set up correctly, the best I could get out of it was the horrible cycle of 'connected' and 'disconnected' noises when I plugged something in. My guess is poor power delivery. There's no SATA power connector, so it tries to get all of its power from the PCI port, ports practice. Instead of getting a replacement I get a refund and get a better card. Should have taken the one with the better performance…

Good product with value

It does exactly what it promises. The black circuit board is sufficient in most cases, and the addition of two Type-C ports is welcome. The only issue I had is the lack of USB power delivery, which is mentioned somewhere on the product page, although it's not immediately obvious. This means you can't charge your phone or connect your Google Home Mini to the card (the latter I did without realizing it). Your mileage may vary as it looks like it could easily charge a Bose Bluetooth speaker, but…

Great, files transfer quickly

Let me start by saying that I have a gaming PC that I built myself. Some standard PCs can be a bit more difficult to use. Also, the ports may not match properly. But for my Corsair 220t case this extension fits perfectly. I'm using Windows 10 Pro on an msi motherboard and haven't had to change any settings or install drivers. You may need to enable the PCIe slot in BIOS if it doesn't connect for you. Transfer rates to external hard drives are fast, faster than some ports on my motherboard. I…

Buyers Beware: Computers and Accessories

There are two issues with this card that make it a "cautious buyer": 1. Compatibility/removal issue. After installation (before realizing problem #2) I started getting crashes on all USB devices, devices I had never encountered before. 2. Where my computer is located, access to the back is not the easiest. I installed the card and then got back to work before trying to plug anything into it - then I started getting all the "crashes" on other USB devices (that weren't connected to the card and…

USB-C port issues

I installed this card in a new Intel Ghost Canyon computer. Installation was easy, the card was recognized immediately. 5 USB 3.0 ports work properly. But the USB-C ports connect quickly and then disconnect repeatedly. I tried 2 different SSDs and both had the same problem. Both drives work fine when connected to another computer. They also work great when plugged into one of the NUC's built-in USB-C ports. So the problem is with the card. Tried the driver that came with the card. That was a…

Nice card, use with care

UPDATE: Under no circumstances should you install the Frescologic drivers as they can further affect card performance. This is in the manual, but after the first problems with the card I tried to install the drivers and made everything worse. In any case, I wouldn't trust this card with storage devices or anything that requires persistent data integrity, but for keyboards and input devices I think it's perfectly fine. This is one of the prettiest and most legal PCI USB cards I've seen, at an…

died after 2 months

More crap, buy 6 or 7 for a year **UPDATE** all right with the universe. I will get a replacement and will update this map after the burn time. 5 STARS for customer service, THANK YOU YEELIYA! **UPDATE** Definitely 1 STAR. True, but the mounting bracket holes are disabled, it is enough that the PCIe pins on the card are close to shorting through the mobo PCIe connector when attaching to the case. I compared it to the one that died and it has the same error. So when I plugged in or unplugged the

Pros
  • Lifetime warranty
Cons
  • Not bad but...

When I first looked at this product, there were no reviews yet, so I was in the buying process very skeptical but initially priced at $18. Along with an additional 10% discount, I took it for everything it offers. The price went up after the first batch was sold, which is the norm given supply and demand, so I'm glad I was one of the first adapters. Definitely much better than the internal USB 3.0 hub which I finally had to throw away after 6 years. This one is much slimmer, has a minimalist…
