All parts arrived intact, no defects. However, note that the magnets in the parts are loose and the parts are VERY light. If you like the old beautiful wood-on-wood feel and sound that Chinese chess makes I would look elsewhere as this set is mostly plastic.

If you carry it naked in your bag like me, it has a lot of scratches. Not small, small, but large, with peeling paint. I bought some more from another company's Revain and carried it naked in my bag with no problem. To do this, you need a soft case. I'm going to use a cloth bag and put some bubble wrap inside. I wear it everywhere.

Products are durable and beautiful. The board/case seems to hold up well with frequent use. The magnetic property is weak; It works well on a horizontal plane, but not on a fridge door. So I bought a square galvanized steel plate (12" x 12"), drew the lines and hung it on the wall. The small magnets inside the pieces stick well to this galvanized steel plate in a vertical position.

This Chinese chess set was purchased to learn this game. I intend to play more online and also buy the BIG rosewood set offered by Revain at a later date. This set is mid-range but the magnets on the pieces are a joke compared to other magnet sets I've bought. I can't offer any advice on buying this device other than it's value for money. ENJOY THE GAME, it's a REAL CHANGE compared to the usual chess game.

This is really good chess. It's just the right size for tabletop gaming or travel. The fragments are easy to read and the plastic tube is a smart way to store the fragments after collection. The magnets work well. I've read comments about them not being strong enough. But I disagree. I think they have the right strength. A high-quality set with innovative features at a great price. The delivery was lightning fast. Buy this set with confidence.

Really good quality for the price. The board is the right size, has a clean finish, and has a locking mechanism when closed. The board is immaculate. What I liked the most is that they give you a bin to put your stuff in. When it comes to the parts themselves, the product falls short. For someone like me just starting out, setting up the board was a headache at best. All parts have a very strange font and parts like the governor look more like a BM. If it weren't for this shortcoming, I would give the product 5 stars.
