Ok I'll deal with that first. This lid is not 100% leak proof and is not advertised as such. It's leak-proof and handles it damn well. When the full liquid flows out slowly, especially more liquid liquids such as water. Thicker liquids like coffee or orange juice are almost non-existent. Almost no shedding halfway. I didn't actually purchase this item as a replacement cap. I bought a lid specifically for a magnetic slider for my Yeti 20oz coffee mug. Here's the story: I have a 20 ounce mug and just lost the magnetic slider. But to get another 20oz magnetic cap I would have to buy 2 caps for $20. But I could buy a spare 30oz cap for $9, remove the magnetic slider from the 30oz cap and use it on the 20oz cap. It worked great and I threw away the 30oz cap (no magnetic slider). The product is exactly as in the description. It comes in unopened retail packaging and is built to last. Very nice touch and audible locking mechanism as you can see in my video. From the video (again) you can see it's more than adequate to protect against spills. If you're looking for a fully waterproof bottle, buy a twist-top bottle or reconsider your expectations of a "spill-proof" cap. Bought this case to replace my (fake) Yeti. I use my glass on a motorcycle and have had trouble with any drink I had in my cup holder squirting out and making a mess whenever I hit a bump or was on a rough surface.
